Now onwards,the people who visit the Hussain Sagar can use Wi-Fi at free of cost .On Thursday a pilot Wi-Fi service project was started along the 10 KM boundary of the lake that is a major tourist destination and also a favourite hangout zone for the Hyderabadis. The famous tank-bund, necklace road, Lumbini Park, NTR gardens, Prasad’s IMAX are all located near the lake.
The first 30 minutes of the Wi-Fi service would be totally free. But a charge of Rs 30 per hour would apply thereafter.
About 2500 people can make use of the offer at data speeds ranging from 2 to 20 Mbps enabled by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited.
Telangana IT minister K Tarakarama Rao launched the experimental project by making a video call to the union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
“We would make the entire city Wi-Fi enabled by this year end and plan to do the same for other major towns like Warangal, Karimnagar in five years,” KTR said at the event.
Hyderabad also known as Cyberabad and Hi-Tech City – a hub of IT companies and techies – has about 4000 kms of optic fibre network laid out already.
