Volvo has launched the V40 Cross Country in India at Rs 27 lakh, ex-Mumbai. The petrol variant joins the diesel variant which was launched a couple of years ago and is priced at Rs 32 lakh, ex-Mumbai. The Volvo V40 Cross Country petrol squares off against the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1 Series.
A new 1.6GTDi motor which makes 179PS powers the V40 petrol. It is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Volvo claims a 0-100kmph time of 8.5 seconds and a fuel efficiency of nearly 16kmpl. The top speed is electronically limited to 210kmph.
The Swedish manufacturer has kitted the car with features such as TFT instrumentation, start stop technology, Engine Brake Energy Regeneration and many more.
Staying true to its safety driven outlook, the Volvo V40 petrol comes with Laser Assisted Automatic Braking, Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) and a driver knee airbag too. The Volvo V40 has scored a five star Euro NCAP rating.
