Aadukalam brought Taapsee Pannu to the notice of Tamil moviegoers. Arrambam cemented her place in the industry. “Being an Ajith-starrer, the film was a blockbuster,” says Taapsee. “My pairing with Arya proved great for my career. Before Arrambam, I had done Vandhaan Vendraan with Jiiva. Coming up is Vai Raja Vai, with Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand. I have done a cameo which changes the course of the story.”
Since her debut in 2010, Taapsee has straddled the Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu film industries with ease. From IT professional to actor, it has been a smooth transition, with a short stint in between in the world of modelling.
Taapsee reflects on her role in her next Tamil release, Kanchana -2. “This is my first time in the Muni franchise. I feel my role will supersede the ones I have done so far. While I cannot reveal much, I can definitely say that it has been most challenging and satisfying to have worked for director Raghava Lawrence.”
