Treasure which worth totally 1.59 Crores found in an unused locker of famous school Kendriya Vidyalaya from Ahmedabad .The scholl officials spotted the cash worth Rs. 1 crore and gold bars at an estimated value of Rs. 59 lakhs on ONGC campus of this school. The incident occurred on saturday during a cleanliness process at the school.
Police inspector KK Desai issued a statement that during the cleaning process, the principal Awadhesh Kumar, spotted a locker stack that was unused and asked his staff to open them in order to clean them Out of 20 lockers, keys to five were missing. When the staff was asked to break open the lockers, a bag was found in two lockers containing cash and 21 gold bars of 100 grams each. The principal then informed the police who arrived on the scene and seized the unclaimed cash and gold at a collective worth of Rs. 1.59 crore.
There was no available record as to the possession of these lockers. The police have questioned the staff and teachers but have been unable to trace the origins of the bags. The income Tax department will be probing all tax related angles in the investigation.
