Visakhapatnam: The district administration has suspended the two teachers who punished students by making them stand in the sun without shirts at Maradapelem in Bheemili mandal of Vizag district.
The two teachers are — Rani Kumari and Anil Kumar — of the Mandal Parishad Primary School.
On Tuesday, the teachers instructed Surya Teja, a Class IV student and Dilip Kumar, a Class V student, to remove their shirts and stand in the sun for not completing their homework. The students collapsed after standing in the sun for nearly three hours. Later, they were hospitalised.
District educational officer K. Krishna Reddy said, “We have put both teachers under suspension and further inquiry is going on”.
