Police on Thursday took a youth into custody after he allegedly tried to take offerings being made to the Hundi at the Lord Venkateswara temple.
The TTD’s vigilance sleuths who noticed the theft on the CCTV caught him at once and recovered Rs. 13,400 from him.
The youth, who was later identified as Raghu, is believed to be a student pursuing B. Tech in Bangalore. According to Tirumala crime police, who registered a case against him, the accused had made away with offerings from a different side of the Hundi even while devotees were putting money from the other side.
