Punjagutta cops arrested seven membered fraud gang yesterday for false selling of Buddha at the cost of Rs.50 lakh.
According to the police officials, the accused Shaik Mohammed Irfan Basha, a civil contractor from Kurnool, found the idol weighing seven kg, near river Tungabhadra two months ago. Then he came to the Hyderabad with other persons and tried to sell it to gain money. They tried to project this 7 KG’s Buddha idol as an unique antique piece.
