Nellore, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati are shortlisted to set up International schools under a Public-Private Partnership.
The curriculum will be International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) or other international curriculum.
For this purpose The AP government has allotted 15 to 20 acres of land. The government has said that the schools will not only be for children of expatriates, but also for “high net-worth individuals”.
The Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh stated, “Nellore is the fifth-most populous city in AP and is well connected with the Guntur-Vijayawada capital region. It is also connected to Chennai. Sri City, an integrated business city, is also being developed in the district.” Nellore also has the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. Visakhapatnam is a commercial and business hub. Tirupati is the largest town in Chittoor district and an important religious destination.
