Medak: A 33-year-old man who was in police custody was died in a hospital yestreday in Telangana’s Medak district. Four policemen were suspended in this concern.
According to the reports,the man, Laxman, is hanged himself with his shirt. He was brought dead to the Gandhi hospital at around 4 am.
It was identified as there were marks on Laxman’s neck and no other external injuries spotted on his body.
Laxman, along with his brother, had been accused of murdering a woman in December, burning her body and dumping it. The police suspect he had an affair with the woman and had also borrowed money from her. When she started asking for the money back, he killed her, the police believe. After the murder, Laxman had been working in Mumbai as a labourer. He was reportedly caught three days ago and brought to Medak.
Since the death took place when the man was in lock-up, the police have ordered an inquiry, as required by the National Human Rights Commission.
