A police inspector has been suspended on charges of sexually harassing a woman police constable.
Inspector General of Police (South Coastal Zone) N. Sanjay on Thursday issued orders suspending P. Sarath Babu, Circle Inspector, Narsaraopet, after he was found guilty of harassing a woman constable repeatedly for over a month.
The action was taken following a report submitted by T. Sobhamanjari, chairperson of women redressal committee of Guntur Rural Police, on the issue. Further departmental action would be taken up against the officer, after a thorough inquiry.
