The bus was reportedly carrying supporters of Jagan Mohan Reddy, who were on their way to a public meeting to be addressed by the YSR Congress leader after a two-day hunger strike over various issues affecting farmers, at Tanuku town in the same district.
N Harikrishna, Superintendent of Police of Rajahmundry Urban District, said brake failure in the bus could have caused the accident.
The bus belongs to Narayana Group of Schools, owned by MS Narayana, Urban Development Minister in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet. According to the Narayana School officials ,the bus agency has broken its tieup with the school that’s the reason we cancelled the agreement with that bus agency. As per the deal the bus is not permitted to use other works other than school purpose.
