Police in Amalapuram have hit upon a novel concept to counter rowdysheeters in the town. Followers of a rowdysheeter, Kolagani Swamy Naidu alias Naidu put up massive posters wishing him on his birthday on Saturday.
Along with 22 prominent places in the town, they also put up Naidu’s poster on a traffic island which has a statue of Mahatma Gandhi, at the Clock Tower crossroads. Irked by this, the town police pasted a smaller poster on it with the wordings Kolagani Swamy Naidu is a rowdysheeter and images of a bat and knife with dripping blood. The police posters along with Swamy Naidu’s poster is making news in Amalapuram town.
Police officials say that the counter posters are part of the police campaign to keep the rowdysheeters under tab.
