Over a year after getting trolled on social media over photographs with Amrita Rai, Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh has finally tied the knot with the TV anchor.
An announcement in this regard was made on Facebook by Rai. She wrote in a Facebook post, “I would like to share with my friends that I and Digvijaya Singh have married in a solemn ceremony, as per the Hindu rites. We have also later registered our marriage.”
Alleging that she was a victim of cyber crime, Amrita wrote that she was “treated like a criminal”. I was trolled and abused in most derogatory language for no fault of mine… I kept a dignified silence and went on with my work, believing in myself and my love for Digvijaya,” she said.
The TV anchor further said that though she knew that questions would be raised on the age difference with Digvijaya Singh, she knew what was good for her.
The Facebook post further said that Amrita had asked the Congress leader to “transfer all his property to his son and daughters”.
