Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday granted conditional bail to TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy and two others, accused in the Cash for Vote case.
Justice Raja Elango granted conditional bail after hearing the arguments of Advocate General Ramakrishna Reddy and the counsel for Mr. Reddy, Harry Sebastian and Udayasimha.
According to the orders, Mr. Reddy cannot move out of Kodangal Assembly Constituency, which he represented in the Telangana Assembly. The three accused in the cash for vote case were asked to furnish a surety of Rs. 5 lakh each and surrender their passports. They were advised not to indulge in acts that could deter the ongoing investigation into the case by the Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The ACB Court on Monday had extended his remand till July 13 on the grounds that the investigation into the case had not been completed.
Meanwhile, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau is making efforts to file a petition in Supreme Court opposing the bail granted by the High Court here. The MLA’s wife, talking to mediapersons, said that Mr. Revanth Reddy would abide by the court’s order and it would be good for him also be closer to the people from his constituency if he is in Kodangal.
