Speaking to media at Hyderabad on Wednesday, M. Padmanabha Reddy, secretary, Forum for Good Governance, welcomed constitution of a Cabinet panel to propose new Act for Telangana and described the A.P. Municipalities Act 1965 as being defective in many aspects and one that did not provide space for tax payers to demand for services.
The proposed Telangana Municipalities Act should ease property tax procedures and do away with certain outdated provisions, demanded the Forum for Good Governance.
He said outdated provisions such as tax on animals, bicycles, tricycles, carts etc., need to be abolished
