Telugu Desam Party won over Congress Party in Tirupati Assembly by-elections. TDP defeated Congress rivals by 1,16,524 votes. The by-election was caused by the demise of the TDP MLA M.Venkatramana.
Mannuru Suguna who is the wife of late Ramana, achieved 1,26,152 votes while the counter part Congress candidate R. Sreedevi got just 9,628 votes. Hence the Congress party has lost the deposit. The TDP leaders’ vow to achieve ‘one lakh majority’.
Lok Satta candidate K. Balasubramanyam bagged a paltry 3,819 votes. while, 2,152 voters opted for the None Of The Above (NOTA) option.
