Cisco Systems Officials informed AP CM, NCBNaidu that they decided to develop Vizag as smart city in a first priority basis. Among other cities which were chosen by them from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra ;they planned to transform Vizag as smart city first because Vizag has great potential to transform into a financial, IT powerhouse and a logistics hub.
Mr. Naidu gain this information through a video call with Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Cisco Padmasree Warrior and president (Globalization and Smart+Connected Communities) for Cisco Systems, Anil Menon.
The CM confirmed that Cisco would focus on setting up a skill development centre and provide training through Global Talent Tracker (GTT). The company was also keen on working with Andhra Pradesh in digitising education and healthcare. Cisco is also capable to work on disaster management technologies.
It is glad to know that the Centre recently sanctioned the Sagarmala project which is useful for the development of Vizag.
It is appreciated that Reliance has come forward to provide 4G services in 524 towns.
