Telemedicine facility will be introduced at the Apollo Specialty Hospitals, Nellore, to help the patients in remote locations to reduce their costs of treatment and expenditure on travel.
Apollo unit head Vishnu Vardhan said that having been recently inaugurated, their hospital here was celebrating the World Health Day by taking the medical help closer to the ruralites in all respects.
He said that being a world class tertiary care hospital, Apollo Nellore got digitised facilities with 200-bed capacity. Dr. Vishnu said that the hospital here was aimed at catering to the health needs of the patients from the neighbouring Prakasam, Chittoor and Kadapa districts as well.
Stating that modern technologies were being used to upgrade the treatment facilities, Dr, Vishnu pointed out that the new telemedicine facility would be very advantageous to patients to minimise their spending on travel.
Senior consultants across all the specialties are providing their services at the Telemedicine Centre at Apollo Nellore, he added.
